On the strength of its alumni outcomes, the Carlson School’s Master of Science in Finance (MSF) program was ranked among the world’s best in the QS Business Master’s Rankings 2023.

The MSF program landed at No. 12 in the U.S. and No. 53 in the world in rankings released Thursday. The program moved up four spots among U.S.-based programs and jumped seven spots in the overall world rankings.

“We are extremely proud to be ranked among the best Finance programs in the country and the world,” says Tracy Yue Wang, John Spooner Professor of Finance and department chair. “Our students have gone on to be difference makers in the finance industry all around the world. It was thrilling to see these rankings reflect that.”

The MSF program posted 100 percent employment rates in 2019 and 2020.

QS, also known as Quacquarelli Symonds, is a British company specializing in the analysis of higher education institutions around the world. Its QS Business Master's Rankings 2023 ranked schools from data collected using three surveys: the QS Global Employer Survey, the QS Global Academic Survey, and a survey completed by the business schools themselves. The survey conducted by schools covered quantitative indicators such as the salary of graduates, class profile, and other institutional data.

Several of the Carlson School’s programs placed in the top 15 in the U.S. in their respective QS rankings. The Master of Marketing program ranked No 4, the Master of Science in Business Analytics program ranked No. 7, and the Master of Science in Supply Chain Management program ranked No. 8.
