With construction underway for the transformative Connecting Carlson building project, here’s a look back at when the atrium was first built in the ’90s.

Taken in 1996, this image shows the progress of the internal construction of the Carlson School building. Under the current Connecting Carlson project, the staircase seen here is being replaced with a new feature staircase with a switchback design that will connect the lower, first, and second floors as well as allow seamless access to Hanson Hall via the skyway.
