Admission Prerequisites

Bachelor's Degree
Applicants must hold bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in the U.S. or a comparable degree from an officially recognized college or university outside of the U.S.
Work Experience
The program requires two years of full-time work experience.

Professional MBA applicants will receive their admission decision within 10 business days of the admission committee receiving a submitted and completed application. A completed and submitted application includes transcripts, resumes, personal statement and recommendations. You will receive communication from the admission committee when your application has been received and marked as complete.
All applicants will receive an admissions decision via the application portal. All admitted candidates will receive additional information through email and the application portal. You will be receiving application update emails from [email protected] and [email protected]. Please add these emails to your contact list or safe list so that they are not caught in your spam filter.

Military-Affiliated Students
U.S. military service members and veterans can count on dedicated Carlson and University of Minnesota personnel to help them every step of the way through the MBA Program.
Financial benefits:
- All military admitted students will receive a 15% discount. Military candidates may also apply for a limited amount of merit-scholarships. Note - scholarships and discounts are not stackable.
- Military veterans admitted to our Professional MBA program with academic merit may be eligible for scholarship funding. Learn more about scholarship opportunities.
International Applicants
We accept international students in the Professional MBA program. Note that this program is delivered with a blend of in-person courses on our Minneapolis campus and online courses. We cannot grant Professional MBA students a student visa.
