Biography
Susie Choe is an Assistant Professor of Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship at the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management.
Her research examines the intersection of sociology, entrepreneurship, and market dynamics. Specifically, she studies how producers' ascribed identities, such as ethnicity and race, shape their value creation and capture strategies, competitive positioning, and market outcomes, with broader implications for societal stratification.
Her work has been recognized with several prestigious awards. She was the winner of the 2024 INFORMS/Organization Science Best Dissertation Proposal Competition and the Academy of Management Louis Pondy Best Dissertation Paper Award. Her research is also supported by the Strategy Research Foundation's Will Mitchell Dissertation Research Grant.
Susie holds a Ph.D. in Strategy from the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business, a Master of Science in Strategy and International Business, and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Seoul National University.
