Frank Gigler is a Professor in Accounting, Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota. Professor Gigler was the Curtis L. Carlson Chair in Accounting from 2011-2018, where he played a major role in reviving the MS in Accounting and MS in Business Taxation degree programs. He came to the Carlson School from the University of Chicago, where he taught for several years after receiving his doctorate.

His research is primarily in the area of financial disclosure and contract theory and has been published in journals such as Economic Theory, Journal of Accounting and Economics, Journal of Accounting Research, and the Accounting Review. He currently serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of Accounting Research and the Accounting Review. Professor Gigler holds a Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota.
