Carla Pavone has a BA in biology from University of Pennsylvania, an MBA from Harvard Business School, and a PhD in business administration from the Carlson School of Management.  She has had three careers:  in publishing (primarily at start-ups), in financial services (mainly leading internal corporate start-ups and turnarounds) and in academia.  Carla spent three years at the Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the University of Missouri – Kansas City, where she taught entrepreneurship classes and coached new ventures.  She has been a member of Social Venture Partners since 2012, serving on the due diligence team, as a lead partner, and on the board of directors.  She is currently a senior instructor at the Carlson School teaching entrepreneurship and management courses, and also consults to young nonprofits and businesses seeking to boost their growth.
