5 Leaders Join Carlson School’s Board of Advisors

Five business leaders with a wealth of expertise and experience are joining the Carlson School of Management’s Board of Advisors.

Heather Anfang of Land O’ Lakes, Taylor Moore of Carlson Private Capital, Craig Schmidt of Citigroup, and Jim Weber of Brooks Running all joined the board this calendar year. Additionally, new Carlson School Alumni Board President Jason Grosz joins as an ex-officio member. 

The Carlson School Board of Advisors includes more than 40 senior executives representing a variety of companies and organizations across the globe. Together, they work closely with the Carlson School’s dean and leadership team to ensure a highly engaged relationship with local and national businesses while providing valued assistance in seeking both monetary and non-monetary support from individuals and the corporate community.

Heather Anfang

Heather Anfang, '99 MBA, senior vice president for U.S. Dairy Foods, Land O’ Lakes

Anfang oversees strategic and commercial activities in the Dairy Retail and Foodservice businesses, partners to drive overall brand health, and encourages the continued engagement and development of team members within the Dairy Foods business. She has been with Land O’ Lakes for 24 years, including many years heading Dairy Foods Marketing and time in corporate heading enterprise-wide e-commerce efforts. Anfang holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an MBA from the Carlson School.

Taylor Moore

Taylor Moore, partner, Carlson Private Capital

Moore helped establish the Carlson Private Capital platform for the Carlson family in 2018. As a partner, Moore is responsible for the firm’s investment portfolio, new investment selection, and execution of the firm’s strategy. Before founding Carlson Private Capital, Moore served as a principal at Norwest Equity Partners, a middle-market private equity firm based in Minneapolis that has raised more than $7 billion in capital. Moore’s prior experience includes investment banking positions at Piper Jaffray & Co. and Morgan Keegan. He graduated from Vanderbilt University and earned his MBA from Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Craig Schmidt

Craig Schmidt, '03 BSB, head of global regulatory reporting, Citigroup

A leader in the financial industry, Schmidt joined Citi as its head of global regulatory reporting in 2022. Previously, he worked in oversight and regulatory reporting at Wells Fargo and in auditing at Deloitte. Schmidt joins the BOA after serving on the Carlson School Alumni Board since 2017, where he was the president for his final three years. He’s also been on the Carlson School’s Gophers of the Last Decade (GOLD) Board and a mentor to students. Schmidt graduated from the Carlson School with a bachelor’s degree.

Jim Weber

Jim Weber, '82 BSB, chairman and CEO, Brooks Running Company

Weber joined Brooks as CEO in 2001 and is credited for the Seattle-based company’s aggressive turnaround story, focusing the team solely on delivering personally inspiring products and experiences that keep people running. He has also held leadership positions with Sims Sports, O’Brien International, The Coleman Company, and various roles with The Pillsbury Company. Weber also spent several years in banking at U.S. Bancorp Piper Jaffray Seattle Investment Banking and Norwest Bank Minneapolis (now Wells Fargo). He received a bachelor’s degree from the Carlson School and an MBA from The Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.

Jason Grosz

Jason Grosz, '99 BSB, '06 MHRIR, vice president and head of talent acquisition, Ecolab

Grosz is an accomplished HR leader with more than two decades of overseeing a multitude of global industries, divisions, and enterprise-wide growth goals. Grosz has worked at Ecolab for more than 18 years, where he currently leads the global Talent Acquisition and Contingent Talent Solution teams and strategy for the company. Grosz graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business and a Master of Human Resources and Industrial Relations degree from the Carlson School.

About the Board of Advisors

The overarching purpose of the Board of Advisors is to advance the mission of the Carlson School of Management by: 1) advising the dean on strategic issues and operational matters, as appropriate; 2) providing input and support to the students and faculty as agreed with the dean; and 3) assisting in promoting the school to its numerous constituents. The Board does not have fiduciary responsibilities. Formerly known as the Board of Overseers, it was renamed in December 2020.
