Letter from the Director

Mark Wagner

As the weather warms up and spring break is in our rear view mirror, we hope there is some calm in your lives before the busyness of summer begins to ramp up. Carlson School students are hitting the home stretch with about four weeks left until finals begin.

Later this spring, UBCC is excited to begin the transition from the Edge as our career services platform to joining GoldPASS, the University of Minnesota-wide system based on Handshake. We see this move as a way to make things easier for students to have access to a diversity of great career opportunities. Also, we expect this will streamline recruiting activity for our employer partners. Please watch for an email soon with more details.

We look forward to continuing our work together and connecting with you in the near future.

Mark Sorenson-Wagner

Director

Carlson Undergraduate Business Career Center

We are transitioning to HANDSHAKE!

As of May 13, 2019, The Carlson Undergraduate Business Career Center (UBCC) will no longer use the Edge. We will be joining the University of Minnesota student recruiting site, GoldPASS powered by Handshake. It is a faster, easier and smarter system that connects all U of M students and alumni with jobs, internships and career services.

You will begin accessing GoldPASS powered by Handshake on May 13, 2019. Students will gain access on June 3rd, 2019. Please stay tuned for more information!

Employer information sessions are brief presentations (appx. 1 hour in length) conducted by representatives. The sessions are typically held Monday-Thursday, between the hours of 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. in Hanson Hall, and cost a flat fee of $200/session. Non-profit and government organizations are eligible to host information sessions at a discounted rate of $100/session. Information sessions must be requested via GoldPASS powered by Handshake.

Snack Stops begin Monday, September 9, 2019

Snack Stops or tabling is a chance for you to interact with Carlson students and build your brand in a very informal setting. The cost for Snack Stops is $100 for a 2 hour block. We are able to provide a 5 foot long table adjacent to the Carlson School cafeteria (in the basement of the Carlson building). The Employer Engagement team coordinates the scheduling of tabling.
