Vladas Griskevicius is the Carlson Foundation Endowed Chair in Marketing at the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota and an Associate Editor of the Journal of Marketing Research. Griskevicius has received numerous awards for his teaching, research, and service, including being named one of the "World's Top 40 Business Professors Under 40" by Poets & Quants, Outstanding Teacher Award at the Carlson School, Early Career Awards for Distinguished Scientific Contributions from the Association for Consumer Research, the Society for Consumer Psychology, the Human Behavior & Evolution Society, and the Society of Personality and Social Psychology, Best Article Award from the Journal of Consumer Research, and named "Young Scholar" by the Marketing Science Institute. He has received multiple major grants from the National Science Foundation and his work is regularly featured on the Discovery Channel, The Economist, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, BBC News, and TIME magazine. He has extensive background in psychology and is an expert in persuasion and social influence. He is co-author of the book The Rational Animal, which has been translated into 11 languages. He holds degrees in economics and psychology from the University of California and a PhD in Psychology from Arizona State University.
