Sarah Merkle

Sarah Merkle, ’09, graduated from the full-time MA-HRIR program and currently works at Stitch Fix as their Director of People & Culture Business Partners. Prior to that, she worked at TTI Success Insights, AT&T, DIRECTV, and General Mills. She says she was interested in pursuing a career in human resources and chose to obtain a master’s degree from the Carlson School because of the program’s reputation and family ties in Minnesota. “I took one trip out to Carlson for a campus visit and tour and knew immediately it was the program for me,” she says. Since graduating, Merkle says, “throughout each of my roles, I have reflected back on my time in the program with gratitude, leveraging text books, applicable knowledge and case studies, alumni connections, and overall, the confidence the program gave me to continue progressing in my career each step of the way.” She decided to join the Alumni Board to stay connected and provide for alumni and students. She says, “I am looking forward to deepening my connection to CHRLS and being of service to the existing alumni and students to enhance connections, learning opportunities, and drive engagement to the program.” To current students, Merkle says, “stay connected and never overlook an opportunity to meet somebody new.”
