Carlson Full-Time MBA 22nd in U.S. in 2017 Economist Rankings

Thursday, October 26, 2017

The Carlson School of Management has made a significant jump in the 2017 edition of The Economist’s “Which MBA?” rankings of full-time programs.

Carlson ranks 22nd among schools in the United States, an 11-place improvement from last year’s list. Overall, the school sits 32nd in the world, 16 spots higher than it did in the 2016 rankings. Among U.S. public institutions, Carlson is eighth.

The Carlson Full-Time MBA Program scored particularly well in the category of “Open New Career Opportunities,” placing eighth in the world and sixth in the U.S.

“While we are never driven by the rankings, it is gratifying to see the school’s performance reflected in the latest Economist ranking,” says Phil Miller, assistant dean of MBA and MS programs. “It is particularly satisfying to receive recognition for career outcomes, which considers alumni rating of career services, placement rate, and diversity of recruiters. We are very focused on our students’ outcomes, so we’re pleased to see the hard work of our staff and students, combined with the support of recruiters and alumni, validated in this ranking.”

About the rankings
The Economist compiles its “Which MBA?” rankings based on quantitative data supplied by schools (and then verified) and qualitative surveys of current MBA and the most recent graduating class.
