Admissions Details and Application Deadlines

The Carlson online MBT program offers a streamlined online application. GRE/GMAT scores are not required. There is no GPA requirement, and our application fee is $75, with a waiver available for active-duty U.S. military service members. You can explore other requirements below.

Admissions Requirements Overview

The following materials are required to apply to the Online MBT degree program:

  • Completed application
  • Unofficial/official transcripts
  • Personal statement
  • Resume
  • Proof of English language proficiency
    • TOEFL iBT: 79 (with section scores of 21 on writing and 19 on reading)
    • IELTS: 6.5 (with section scores of 6.5 in both reading and writing)
    • MELAB: 80

Candidates must also have:

  • An undergraduate degree (in any field)
  • Completed ACCT 2051 Introduction to Financial Reporting and ACCT 5135 Fundamentals of Federal Income Tax (or their equivalents)

*The MBT program sends out scholarship applications in mid-July to all current and admitted degree candidates. As long as students (1) are in good standing; (2) do not get primarily reimbursed and (3) agree to take at least 8 credits during the academic year, we divide our scholarship dollars equally among those who qualify and apply.
