Forming great partnerships is required to succeed in business. No business partnership, however, will impact the success of an entrepreneur more than the personal relationships with their life partner and family. Carlson MBA students and their partners are invited to the historic Nicollet Island Inn on the Mississippi River in downtown Minneapolis. Over dinner at their award winning restaurant, Larry and Caryl Abdo will lead a discussion on the challenges and rewards of living with an entrepreneur. Students will have the opportunity to ask blunt questions and contribute to the discussion. We encourage Carlson MBA students with a strong interest in entrepreneurship to join us for a spirited discussion on how they and their spouses can get the most out of their shared entrepreneurial journey. Attendance is strictly limited to 5 couples. Please email jstavig@umn.edu for any questions.

About the Abdo Dinner Conversation Series

Caryl and Larry Abdo sought to give back to their University in a unique manner that would directly benefit students pursuing an entrepreneurial career. Through informal discussions at the dinner table of their historic Nicollet Island Inn, the Abdos share their perspectives and advice with Carlson School entrepreneurship students. These dinners are structured to generate lively discussion on a range of interpersonal topics relevant to current students. The intimate environment of the Captains Room makes for a fun evening where relationships develop and advice is freely shared. The Abdos are Carlson School alumni and serial entrepreneurs involved with numerous real estate, restaurant, hospitality and marketing businesses.
