Moving Mobility Forward: Telo Brings Idea to Reality

Thursday, September 23, 2021

There has been no significant design change to the rollator walker since its invention more than 40 years ago. Until now.

Telo, a company founded by four recent University of Minnesota graduates, rethought the entire device. By putting the user in front, rather than behind, the new design could benefit millions of mobility-compromised people.

What started as an idea in a Carlson School course is one of the most promising startups in Minnesota.

Telo is just one example of how startup dreams can become a reality. The Carlson School helps all along the way. Experiential courses with world-class teachers. Mentorship from experienced entrepreneurs. Support via funding and competitions. A dedicated center for entrepreneurship. Students and alumni get what they need to get ideas off the ground.

This is one example of how the Carlson School supports entrepreneurs. Explore all that we do.
