About

Ismat Aziz is the chief advocacy officer at U.S. Bancorp. Ismat is responsible for strategically designing programs that support employees as U.S Bancorp moves into a digital future. This includes conceptually reviewing overarching policies and procedures that serve employees, customers and realigning the cultural lens as the business transforms to an agile and nimble organization.
Ismat was previously the chief human resources officer (CHRO) at U.S. Bancorp. In this role, Ismat was responsible for the human capital strategy of the organization including talent acquisition and development, performance management, compensation and benefits, employee relations and diversity and inclusion.

Prior to joining U.S. Bancorp in 2018, Ismat held the positions of chief human resources officer at Sprint and chief human resources officer at Sam's Club. Previous experience includes chief human resources officer and senior vice president of business capability at Sears Canada, vice president of human resources at MDS Pharmaceuticals and vice president of human resources and chief privacy officer of Corby Distilleries
Ismat has extensive global experience in transformations,mergers and acquisitions, strategy,process improvement,driving operational effectiveness and change management. Ismat has worked in multiple industries including retail, financial services, technology, pharmaceuticals, mining and metals, spirits, manufacturing, and plastics. Ismat earned a Masters of Business Administration from the Richard Ivey School of Business –University of Western Ontario and completed her undergraduate work at the University of Toronto. Ismat holds certifications in Board Governance and HR internationally.

Ismat also is a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) through the Human Resources Association and a Chartered Director (C.Dir.) through the Director's College, McMaster University. Ismat has four children and lives in Minneapolis, MN.
