U.S. News and World Report has named the University of Minnesota as the No. 19 Best Global University for Economics and Business. This ranking places the University in third place among public institutions. The list ranks the world’s top universities for economics and business, based on their international reputation and caliber of research.

The University of Minnesota overall was ranked No. 29 Best Global University. By academic field, the University landed 21 disciplines in the global top 100.

Rankings were based on academic research performance, including publications, citations, books, conferences, and regional and global reputation. The economics and business category comprises journals dealing with the production, distribution, and consumption of goods and services. These publications cover the theoretical, political, agricultural, and developmental aspects of economics, as well as the strategic planning, decision-making, and financial methods that go into creating and maintaining a successful business.
