Every year, the editors of Twin Cities Business create a "Who's Who" list of professionals in the business community, identifying key players in various roles and industries. This year, included in the TCB 100: People to Know in 2018 were three Carlson School alumni:
- Kyle Rolfing, ’94 MBA, along with fellow U of M alum Tom Valdivia, was honored for his leadershop as co-founder of Bright Health, a startup that reduces costs by partnering with health providers in a given area.
- Co-founder of Penny’s Coffee in Minneapolis, Dean Phillips, ’00 MBA, was recognized for being a pioneer in the Minnesota community, from his time working at Phillips Distilling, to becoming chairman at Talenti Gelato, and finally founding Penny’s.
- John Sturgess, ’08 MBA, the owner of five-star ADOGO pet hotels, was recognized for his success in this industry as well as his move into consultancy and management with his new company called RetrieveOne Advisors.
