Former chief regulatory office at Medtronic was founding member of MILI's National Industry Council.

The Medial Industry Leadership Institute (MILI) has named Dr. Susan Alpert. PhD, MD, as its first Executive in Residence. Alpert recently retired from Medtronic where she had served as senior vice president and chief regulatory officer since 2005.

"Dr. Alpert's role will greatly enhance the academic environment of MILI by sharing her professional expertise," says Professor Stephen Parente, director, MILI. "She will be participating in activities such as teaching, interacting with the University and business community, and advising, as well as generating ideas to help further the mission of MILI."

In her new role, Alpert will advise and assist in identifying the needs and expectations of the business community and how the Carlson School and MILI might best respond, share her expertise and mentor students and MILI affiliates, and continue to foster close working relations with the global medical industry.

One of the founding members of MILI's National Industry Council, Alpert has been actively engaged with the Institute for more than five years.
