Marketing Professor Kathleen Vohs has been selected to receive the Society for Consumer Psychology (SCP) Distinguished Scientific Contribution Award. The award is given annually to honor a scholar who has made significant and lasting contributions in the field of consumer psychology. She will receive the award at the 2018 SCP conference in Dallas in February.
Vohs is a Distinguished McKnight University Professor and holds the Land O’Lakes Chair in Marketing at the Carlson School. Her research specialties include self-control, the hidden costs of decision making, the psychology of money, the difference between a meaningful and happy life, and heterosexual sexual negotiations.
She has authored more than 250 scholarly publications and has been the editor of nine books. In 2015, she was named a Highly Cited Researcher by Thomson Reuter’s ISI Web of Science, a distinction given to the top one percent of all scholars worldwide based on citations.
