Ingersoll Rand to Sponsor HR Tomorrow Conference Luncheon
Each year, the popular HR Tomorrow Conference breaks for a mid-day luncheon where HR professionals have an opportunity to network and chat about the morning sessions. For the first time, this year's luncheon will be sponsored by Ingersoll Rand.
Ingersoll Rand has sponsored the HR Tomorrow Conference for the past four years because of its strong ties with the University of Minnesota MA-HRIR program, and for the opportunity to stay abreast of what's trending in HR.
"It's such a great way for people to come together and become re-energized about what's new in HR, what's trending, and what other companies are doing," says Rachel Usher, '10 MA-HRIR, HR business partner for North America at Ingersoll Rand Thermo King.
Last year, the company was the reception sponsor. This year, Ingersoll Rand has chosen to participate as the Luncheon Sponsor because it wanted to show its support of the conference in a new way.
"We thought we would mix it up a bit this year," Usher said. "The luncheon is a great way for everyone to debrief about what they've heard, talk about what sessions they're going to next, and also just relax and enjoy the day together."
Ingersoll Rand's connection to the MA-HRIR program continues to grow. The organization recruits interns and candidates for the Accelerated Development Program, and Usher said they always come away with top talent and people who grow into great future leaders. The company also works with the program's student organization, Graduate Society of Human Resources Leaders, and participates in resume reviews and mock trials for students.
"Our goal is to make sure that we're in touch with the faculty, and especially the students, to hear what they're learning and how we can support that on campus in any way," Usher says. "We love the Gophers, and we're always excited to be on campus."
The 2014 HR Tomorrow Conference, "Tools for Tomorrow: Evolving your HR Skill Set," takes place on Friday, April 11th, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Carlson School of Management.
