“I love the information shared, the cutting-edge research, and the opportunity to reconnect with old colleagues and classmates,” says one of the 310 HR professionals who attended the much-anticipated 2016 HR Tomorrow conference on April 22.
HR Tomorrow: Rethinking the role of Human Resources brought a day of speakers and presentations covering a range of subjects like Cultural Complacency, Employee Wellness Programs, Transforming the Workplace, and Unlocking Performance with Purpose.
The morning kicked off with a Land O’Lakes-sponsored breakfast and barista bar, followed by a presentation by CHS Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer Adam Holton.
“Excellent speakers and relevant topics,” commented one guest. Attendees chose two additional presentations to attend before the Ingersoll Rand-sponsored lunch, which was catered by D’Amico Catering.
The afternoon continued with guests attending additional presentations, then reconvening to attend a talk by Accenture Senior Managing Director Nathan Boaz. The conference concluded with a reception hosted by Ecolab, where attendees mingled and enjoyed appetizers and refreshments. View photos from the conference.
An online survey sent to attendees after the conference garnered very positive feedback: 98 percent of respondents indicated they would come back next year and would recommend the conference to others. Some of the reasons people attended included the strength of the keynote and breakout speakers, the networking opportunities, and “the chance to learn and grow from others and to see what works within other organizations,” as one attendee wrote.
Another commenter said, “[The conference provided] good networking whether you are just starting out, or looking to expand your existing network, and whether you want more focus on case studies from local companies, or were looking for more specific program/tactic examples.”
“Great conference, looking forward to next year already!” said another attendee. Next year, the HR Tomorrow Conference will take place April 21, 2017.
