Three Carlson School faculty members earned promotions this year, marking meaningful career milestones. This is a testament to their hard work and ongoing commitment to research and scholarship at the Carlson School and the University of Minnesota.

Congratulations to the following faculty members:

From Associate Professor to Full Professor

Jason Chan

Jason Chan, Information & Decision Sciences

Jason’s research centers on uncovering business and policy insights on emerging internet phenomena and social outcomes in various areas, including artificial intelligence, healthcare, crime, financial wellbeing, education, and labor economics. After earning his PhD from New York University in 2014, he joined the faculty at the Carlson School. 

 

 

 

William Hedgcock Discovery

William Hedgcock, Marketing

William’s research focuses on consumer neuroscience, an interdisciplinary field of study that draws on psychology, neuroscience, and marketing to study consumers’ judgment and decision-making. His research involves identifying decision biases and the physiological and neural correlates of these biases. He earned his PhD in 2008 from the Carlson School and later returned as a faculty member in 2018. 

 

 

Yuqing Ren

Yuqing Ren, Information & Decision Sciences

Yuqing’s research focuses on how information technologies can support social interaction and collaboration. The main streams of her work are: social interactions in online communities; organizing and managing digital collaboration; and human-machine relationships and collaboration. She received her PhD in 2004 from Carnegie Mellon University and joined the Carlson School faculty in 2007.
