Wells Fargo President, Chairman, and CEO John Stumpf, '80 MBA, has been selected by investment research firm Morningstar as CEO of the Year. He earned the honor by leading Wells Fargo to continued success amid the 2008 financial crisis.

Each year, Morningstar recognizes a chief executive who exhibits commendable corporate stewardship, demonstrates independent thinking, creates lasting value for shareholders, and puts his or her stamp on an industry. Stumpf was selected among a pool of finalists that included Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos and GE Chairman and CEO Jeffrey Immelt.

Last year, Stumpf returned to campus to share his best advice for a thriving business career with Carlson School graduates.
