What happens when workers who have pushed pause on their career want to re-engage? Research shows substantial pay penalties associated with career interruptions. Strategies for avoiding such penalties are in high demand. What can employers do to facilitate career success after a pause? What actions can workers take? What are the barriers facing individuals navigating re-entry?
Join Associate Professor Colleen Manchester on November 19 from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at the Carlson School as she presents academic research on career breaks and leads a panel discussion with re-entrants, employers, and the audience.
Registration starts at $10.
The goal of this session is to share and gather information from the community on needs around career breaks to develop strategies, tools, and support for those who have taken or are thinking about taking a pause. Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet with career coaches to get feedback on their résumés from 11 a.m.-12:00 p.m. (limited space is available).
