Professor Emeritus Andrew Van de Ven (center) was recognized for his contributions to the study of organizations in August in Anaheim, California at the annual Academy of Management meeting. Van de Ven was the keynote speaker in a session entitled, “How Can We Do Exploratory Research on Organizational Innovation and Change?” The session was co-sponsored by the Academy of Management Discoveries and the University of Minnesota.
The session include remarks by Professor Shaker Zahra (left) and was moderated by Associate Professor Dan Forbes (right), both of whom serve on the faculty of the Carlson School’s Department of Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship (SME).
Van de Ven retired in May after 35 years of service to the University of Minnesota, but remains active as a scholar. He held appointments in the Carlson School’s SME department and in the Department of Work and Organizations. He also was named founding editor of the Academy of Management Discoveries in 2013.
