Carlson School Reunion & Tailgate

Every event brings new insights, experiences, and connections for alumni and friends of the Carlson School. Here are some highlights:
The first all-alumni Carlson School Reunion was held September 20–21, 2024. This new tradition welcomed graduates from all degree programs and class years, but was a special celebration for milestone years, including the 10th anniversary of the Master of Science in Business Analytics program. On Friday, attendees heard from keynote speaker Michael Ramlet, ’09 BSB, co-founder and CEO of Morning Consult; participated in sessions on timely topics in business; and attended a school update from Dean Jamie Prenkert. A lively celebratory evening topped off the day with dinner and dancing. Saturday saw a fun and festive tailgate outside Huntington Bank Stadium before the Gophers took on Iowa.
Join us at the next Carlson School Reunion September 26–27, 2025.
Dr. Rebecca Cunningham, the 18th president of the University of Minnesota, spoke to a sold-out audience of Carlson School alumni and friends in December 2024. Dr. Cunningham shared her vision for the University, the significant role she thinks the business community plays in the future of UMN, and how her background in medicine has shaped her leadership perspective.

This fall, the Carlson School hosted a thought leadership conference on Entrepreneurship Through Acquisition (ETA). Alumni, students, and community members who are business owners—or want to be—as well as those who study or support ETA ventures exchanged practical and actionable knowledge and networked. The vibrancy of the entrepreneurship community was palpable.
U.S. Navy Commander Crystal Schaefer, ’10 MBA, (pictured second from left) impressed a crowd of alumni, students, family, and friends at the ninth annual Carlson School Military & Veterans Celebration. Schaefer spoke about how her Carlson School education has helped her rise up the ranks to her current post as commanding officer of the U.S.S. Constitution.
