Assistant Professor of Marketing Alison Xu has been selected to receive an Early Career Award from the Society of Consumer Psychology (SCP). The SCP Early Career Award is given annually to honor one scholar who is no more than eight years post-PhD who has made significant scientific contributions to consumer psychology. She will receive the award at the 2018 SCP conference in Dallas in February.

Xu’s research takes an information processing approach to examine how mindsets, goals, and sensory inputs influence consumer and manager decision making. Her articles have been published in leading academic journals, including the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America, Journal of Consumer Research, Psychological Science, Management Science, the Journal of Consumer Psychology, the Journal of Experimental Psychology: General, and the Advances in Experimental Social Psychology.
