20 Years of Entrepreneurship in Action

Entrepreneurship in Action, one of Minnesota Carlson’s signature courses, is celebrating its 20th year — a feat driven in no small part by the investment of time and resources from Roy Wetterstrom, ’86 BSB.
In 2005, the successful entrepreneur helped create the course where students launch a startup through Carlson’s Gary S. Holmes Center for Entrepreneurship. Wetterstrom has been involved with the course each year.
“I believed this course would help set Carlson apart and give our students the unique opportunity to experience entrepreneurship in a safe environment,” says Wetterstrom. “In all ways, it has exceeded my expectations.”
Since 1998, Wetterstrom has been an advisor, mentor, staff member, lecturer and board member at Carlson. His leadership and significant philanthropy have helped develop the Holmes Center into a thriving hub of entrepreneurial activity and innovation.
“The Holmes Center has been a great steward of our resources and has had a profound impact on the growth of entrepreneurship in our state,” he says. “To me, that is a great ROI.”
