Professional MBA Residencies

As a busy working professional, you don't want to leave value on the table as you complete your degree. Residencies allow you to maximize that value via face-to-face experiences that combine academic learning with opportunities to build a professional and personal connection with fellow classmates and Carlson's MBA community. A residency, simply put, is an enhanced MBA experience that provides access to industry leaders, faculty, career and student life programming.

Residency Requirements

Professional MBA students are required to complete three in-person residencies.

Program Orientation

The first residency is Program Orientation prior to the first semester.

Campus Residency

Complete at least one Campus Residency offered by Minnesota Carlson Graduate Programs and the Carlson Business Career Center. Campus Residencies are immersive, high-impact experiences held over 2-3 days on campus. They build community while blending professionally relevant learning through industry engagement, skill development, and experiential activities.

Flex Residency

Complete one of the following:

Complete a second Campus Residency offered by Minnesota Carlson Graduate Programs and Carlson Business Career Center.

CGI Global Enrichment Programs are short-term, faculty-led programs where students travel with a cohort of Carlson graduate students. Credits from programs may also satisfy the Experiential Learning Requirement (if the program has approved experiential component) or Electives Requirement.

Credits from MILI Global Valuation Lab may also satisfy the Experiential Learning Requirement or Electives Requirement.

Participate in a multi-day career or industry focused trek offered by Minnesota Carlson.
