  • Budget Constrained Online Experimentation, Heterogeneous Treatment Effects, Multi-Armed Bandits

Sandeep Gangarapu is a fifth-year Doctoral Candidate studying Information and Decision Sciences at Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota.

He works on developing methods and frameworks that help decision-makers (Marketer, Clinician or Policy-maker) better conduct A/B/n testing experiments (Randomized Controlled Trials) and also optimally target subjects and treatments in a budget-constrained, heterogeneous treatment effect environment. These questions fall in the line of literature related to Heterogeneous Treatment effects and Multi-Armed Bandits. He uses a mix of Statistics, Machine Learning, and Causal Inference to solve the above problems.

Before moving to Minneapolis, Sandeep worked at Google as an Automation specialist in Google Search Anti-Abuse team. Before that, he completed his Masters’ and Bachelors’ in Aerospace Engineering with specialization in Computational Fluid Dynamics from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.
