In my work at the Carlson School of Management, I serve on the faculty steering committee for the University of Minnesota Center for Integrative Leadership. I co-teach GCC 5023: Leading Across Sectors to Address Grand Challenges, formerly the Integrative Leadership Seminar (MGMT 6402/PA 5105/OLPD 6402/PUBH 6702/LAW 6623) along with colleagues from The Carlson School, The Humphrey School, The School of Public Health, and the Law School here at the U. of M. Finally, I serve as the Director of Graduate Studies for the Graduate Minor in Integrative Leadership. (See link: http://www.cehd.umn.edu/olpd/grad-programs/ILM/default.html )
My primary appointment is as Senior Lecturer, and Coordinator of the Human Resource Development Graduate Programs in the Department of Organizational Leadership, Policy, and Development, in the College of Education and Human Development. In my work there, I teach leadership, career-development, and human resource development courses, conduct research on multiple aspects of these related fields, and work on other professional engagement projects. Examples include hosting a symposium on Best Practices in Leadership Development, and working with a cross-sector team to host a workshop for Job Loss Counselors and Related Professionals.
I completed a Ph.D. in human resource development, with supporting work in industrial-organizational psychology. For more than 30 years, I have worked as a consultant for Korn Ferry Hay Group, focusing primarily on designing and delivering leadership development interventions for large client organizations across the United States and in a number of countries around the world. Korn Ferry Hay Group is a global leadership solutions company with distinctive expertise in accelerating leadership effectiveness to maximize organizational results. I continue my work at Korn Ferry Hay Group on a limited basis, designing and deploying leadership development initiatives to support strategic organizational change in educational institutions, non-profit organizations, NGOs, and selected private sector organizations.
