Julie N. Wellmann is a doctoral candidate in the Work and Organizations department at the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota. She received her M.A. in political science from Northwestern University and her B.A. with honors in political science from James Madison College at Michigan State University. She has worked on Wall Street and in the non-profit sector. Her multidisciplinary and multi-method research interests focus on gendered career paths, including career mobility and returns on human capital investments. Her second research focus is on the working arrangements of dual-career families and their career success and satisfaction over time.
