Planning and Preparation

It's never too early for your student to begin planning for their international experience. A team of Education Abroad advisers is available to discuss the various program options.

Important Steps for Your Student to Take

  • Undergraduate students will watch the IE 101 video during their MGMT 1001 or BA 3000 class and can then select additional workshops to attend that provide an overview of the international experience requirement. The three workshops offered include:
    • Academic Planning for Semester Abroad (required for students intending to do a semester program
    • Program Selection Considerations
    • Financial Aid and Scholarships
  • Research program options.
  • Complete and online profile and contact the Education Abroad advising team to schedule an appointment or stop in during walk-in advising hours. Students can also complete the PDF iconEducation Abroad Goal Setting Worksheet (157.17 KB)and bring it when meeting with their adviser.
  • Consult with their academic adviser. Students should discuss the completion of their other academic requirements, the timing of the international experience, and the type of coursework they can take abroad so that their study abroad experience is integrated into their overall academic plan.
