Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management (SEM)

Founded in 1911 as the Tsinghua Xuetang in Beijing, China, Tsinghua is a top university in China, especially well-known for its engineering programs.  Tsinghua’s engineering program is ranked 1st in the world by U.S. News and World Report.  The School of Economics and Management of Tsinghua was established in 1984 with prior Premier Minister of China Zhu Rongji as the founding dean. As a top business school in China, Tsinghua SEM offers a variety of programs at the graduate level.  SEM has 153 full-time faculty members with doctoral degrees and also utilizes visiting and part-time faculty to deliver programs to 2,208 full-time and 2,596 part-time students.  Financial Times ranks their joint EMBA program with INSEAD at 1st in the world. SEM is accredited by AACSB, receiving its initial accreditation in 2007.  SEM has also enjoyed EQUIS accreditation offered by EFMD, a European-based accrediting body, since 2008.
