Is Social Security important to you?  Do you want to ensure that Social Security is improved and continued, not only for you but for your children and grandchildren?

Join us for a forum of experts as we discuss the reality, the challenges and, look for solutions to ensuring Social Security continues to provide the earned income that seniors, the disabled and, survivors depend on today and, in the future. Social Security is a vital economic program that one in five Americans relies on for their economic well-being. The national dialog on the programs’ long-term viability has been debated for years with some truths and with some misinformation.

The forum will be at the Teamsters 120 Hall,  9422 Ulysses Street NE, in Blaine, MN. The program will start at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 19.  The event will be live-streamed throughout Minnesota with the assistance of the University of Minnesota Labor Education Service.  In addition to Ms. Altman’s remarks, there will be an opportunity for questions and answers with the speaker and panelists.

The featured speaker, Nancy J. Altman, has a forty-year background in the areas of Social Security and private pensions. She also is president of Social Security Works and Chair of the Strengthen Social Security Coalition. She is the author of several noted books on Social Security (The Truth About Social Security [2018], Social Security Works! Why Social Security Isn’t Going Broke [2015]) served as an educator at Harvard University.  She is a Congressional expert on Social Security and served on Federal Commissions on Social Security improvements.  If you want to learn more about Ms. Altman you can access more information here.
