Meet the Speakers

Michael Burson

Michael Burson

Michael Burson (he, him, his) is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate in North Carolina serving clients in private practice. He worked for 5 years as a Student Counselor at Central Piedmont Community College and created the Safe Zone program there, training about the language, concerns, and best practices around the LGBTQ+ Community. He is also part of the Trans Healthcare Group of Charlotte, a collective of licensed healthcare professionals well versed in the needs of Transgender individuals. 


 

Nils Rykken

Nils Rykken

Nils Rykken is a 2021 graduate from the Carlson School of Management with a BSB in Finance along with minors in International Business & Swedish. In his current role he focuses on creating and managing master data for new capital projects, building out year-end forecasts, and updating 5-year budget cycles - All of which help contribute to Xcel Energy’s ultimate goal of transitioning to green energy. He interned with Xcel Energy in the Business Area Finance - Energy Supply department during his senior year and he received an offer to join that same department full-time later that year.
