Annie Young-Scrivner, Chief Executive Officer, Wella Company, will sit down with Carlson School Dean Sri Zaheer to discuss her career journey to the C-suite and the Board of Directors for major corporations.
Annie Young-Scrivner is the chief executive officer (CEO) of Wella Company, a global leader in the beauty industry. As Wella’s inaugural CEO, Young-Scrivner is responsible for building the strategic growth framework for the company that returned to independent operating status in December 2020 for the first time since 2003.
Before joining Wella, Young-Scrivner served three years as CEO of GODIVA Chocolatier. She also previously has worked at Starbucks, where she held several leadership roles, including global chief marketing officer and president of Tazo Tea. Young-Scrivner began her career with a 20-year tenure at PepsiCo. There, she held positions in marketing, sales, and general management, working in 30 different countries worldwide and serving as president and chairman of PepsiCo Foods in Greater China.
Young-Scrivner serves on the board of directors of YUM! Brands. Her past board leadership includes Tiffany & Co., Macy’s Inc., and Starbucks Japan.
Young-Scrivner received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington’s Foster School of Business and her Executive MBA from the Carlson School. Her executive education training includes Yale School of Management, Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia, and IMD in Switzerland.
