We are so excited to extend invitations to teams around the world!

Greetings from the student chair!

Student Chair

Hello and welcome! My name is Calvin Ryan and I'm excited to introduce myself as the Student Chair for CoMIS 2020! On behalf of this year's planning committee, we are eagerly awaiting the arrival of teams from all over the world who will be joining us for this years’ conference. We've been working diligently to craft not only a rewarding experience but one that also reflects the innovative culture and thriving business community of Minnesota.

CoMIS is held annually at the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management in Minneapolis. This year will be our 9th conference. While we always ensure a lively competition, one of our 2020 initiatives has been to create a richer experiential-based competition by revitalizing participant’s user and technology experience as well as showcasing our community. We can't wait to show participants what the Twin Cities (Minneapolis/St. Paul) has to offer!

The Twin Cities is home to 17 Fortune 500 companies in a range of industries, supplemented with a strong affinity for start-ups and entrepreneurship. Interestingly, the Carlson School was the first institution to pioneer and publish curriculum in the MIS field. More so, there are impressive art, theater, outdoors, and food scenes. In fact, Minneapolis was selected to host the NFL's Super Bowl LII in 2018 and hosted the NCAA's Final Four in April 2019!

As applications and deadlines approach, please be on the lookout for communications from us via email and on our social media. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out and our team will be happy to assist you. We can't wait to see you in Minnesota!
