Learn from Supply Chain Leaders
MS SCM students enjoy frequent opportunities to connect with and learn from experienced supply chain leaders representing a variety of industries and types of organizations. This strong connection to industry adds vibrancy to our program.
The outside people really lend a different perspective. They would have people from CEOs down to VPs, directors of all the different areas and supply chains. Seeing and hearing them talk about what they had to deal with was nice because the consensus was kind of like, ‘Oh, we all have the same problems,’ essentially, right? It's just, ‘How are we creatively solving them differently?'
-Allison Hohn, MS SCM Alumna
The MS in Supply Chain Management program partners with local companies to help shape curriculum and its students, creating industry-aligned curriculum that allows students to apply what they’re learning right away.
Guest Lectures and Speaker Events
Professionals in the field regularly serve as guest lecturers and bring theory to life with relevant examples and case studies from their careers. Accomplished executives from global companies share valuable insights from their experiences at speaker events.
MS SCM students and staff tour partner companies for behind-the-scenes looks at different on-the-ground approaches. The program was the first group to visit Amazon’s fulfillment center in Shakopee, Minnesota, before it opened to the public in the summer of 2017.
The Department of Supply Chain and Operations Board of Advisors also hosts periodic networking events that connect MS SCM students with industry leaders, including senior supply chain executives.
