Full-time & Part-time Options

The MHRIR program is offered in both Full- and Part-time formats to allow students to study full time and to accommodate busy working professionals. No matter which format you choose, the MHRIR program offers a comprehensive education.

Full-time program

HRIR Program Information

For students dedicated to graduate studies full time. Program begins in the fall and classes held throughout the day and evening. Students enroll in 12 credits per semester and complete the degree in two academic years. For many students, a full-time summer internship between the first and second year rounds out the program.

Part-time program

HRIR Program Information

The Evening HR Master Program covers all aspects of Human Resources and Industrial Relations so you can apply what you learn to your current work, and to your future challenges. Our faculty draws on your professional experiences to enrich the classroom experience.

For employed HR professionals and aspiring career switchers. Program begins either in the Fall or Spring. Because students in the evening program generally work full-time, classes are held between 5:45 and 9:00 p.m. Courses typically meet one night per week. Some of the related field courses (such as in the MBA program) can be taken on the weekends, and summer courses are also available. Part-time students usually enroll in an average of 4 to 8 credits per semester, with many students completing the program in 3-4 years.

Nearly all MHRIR electives meet in the evening, allowing a wide range of electives to be offered while facilitating the interaction of day and evening students. The full-time and part-time options both lead to the same degree, have the same curricular requirements, and follow the same admissions procedures. The program's 60-year connection to the HR community translates into diverse opportunities for students and alumni. Local, national, and international companies recruit our students for a full array of HR positions to be the next generation of HR leaders. The Evening HR Master Program enrolls talented and experienced professionals from diverse backgrounds that enrich the student experience and provide networking opportunities, before and after graduation.
