After admission into the Carlson School’s Master of Accountancy program, there are several steps you need to take to complete your enrollment.

Respond to Offer – Follow the instructions from the Office of the Graduate Admissions to confirm your enrollment.  The instructions will be found in your online acceptance letter.  If your plans change and you choose not to enroll in the MAcc program, please notify the Office of Graduate Admissions.

MyU Portal – You will receive instructions from the Office of Graduate Admissions detailing how to access your myU portal for admitted students.  The myU portal is your access to your specific university information including registration, financial aid, student accounts, library resources, and more. 

One Stop – Familiarize yourself with the One Stop website that provides all general information for the university including academic calendars, degree planning, registration, billing, and financial aid.

Financial Aid – If you plan to apply for need-based financial assistance, you must submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).  Review the financial aid information at the One Stop website for detailed instructions on how to apply and check the progress of your application.

Immunization – Minnesota law requires all students born after December 31, 1956, who enroll in a Minnesota college or university, to be immunized against certain diseases.  Before classes start, students must complete the Boynton Health Service Student Immunization Form to avoid a registration hold in your second semester.  The form and instructions are found on the Boynton Immunization Requirements website.

UCard – The UCard is your official University of Minnesota photo ID card.  You will need a UCard for the library, health services, discounted tickets, and to access the Carlson School building at specific times.  Please obtain your UCard from the UCard Office located in the Coffman Memorial Union.

Registration – Students will be contacted by the MAcc program office regarding registration for classes after admission into the program.

Code of Conduct – All students are required to read the Carlson School Honor Code and sign the Code of Conduct.  After reading the Honor Code included in your admission packet, please sign the conduct form and return to our office by fax: 612-626-7795 or mail: 321-19th Ave South, Suite 3-110, Minneapolis, MN 55455.

Orientation – All new students are asked to attend orientation that occurs the week before classes start.  After admission, you will receive an email invitation with a request to RSVP to the orientation.  The purpose of the MAcc orientation is to welcome you to the program, prepare you for academic success, and promote community with other MAcc students.

International Students – Please review the information at International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) that provides support to international students at the University of Minnesota including information on visas, international orientation, employment, finances, the international buddy program, and more.

 

Before First Day

Verify your enrollment.
Purchase your textbooks and all class materials from the UMN bookstore.
Check Moodle at least two weeks before class begins.  You may have assignments due the first day of class.  Moodle is the tool used by most instructors to provide online content for a course.  Instructors may post entire lectures, a syllabus, an assignment, or other class content on the course’s Moodle site.
