Becky (Rebecca) Nelson
Please tell us why you want to be a Finch Fellow
My background is in mechanical and systems engineering, and I have spent my entire career working in medtech product innovation, with companies both large and small. The Finch Fellowship affords an opportunity to work upstream from my product development wheelhouse by evaluating early-stage innovations, which ultimately will strengthen my ability to make meaningful contributions to this high-impact industry by understanding the ecosystem of stakeholders involved in developing new medical technologies.
Where do you see yourself five years after graduation? How will your participation as a Fellow impact that plan?
The healthcare industry has a limitless amount of unmet needs, and I plan to continue creating meaningful solutions to improve healthcare outcomes. I hope to be on the path to bringing my own medical device innovation to the market in the next 5 years. The Finch Fellowship will give me the opportunity to flex my skillset in identifying an opportunity and evaluating proposed solutions, which will serve me well in determining the value of my own future innovations.
