International Education Week

International Education Week (IEW) celebrates the transformative power of international education to expand students' horizons and build individual and institutional connections around the world. The Carlson Global Institute celebrates IEW with events to highlight international education at the Carlson School of Management.

The U.S. Departments of State and Education first declared International Education Week in 2000 as part of their effort to encourage policies and programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study in the U.S.

Navigating Your Identity Abroad
4:00-5:30 pm
Humphrey 50B

Studying abroad offers incredible opportunities to meet new people, experience different cultures, and learn about the world, and yourself, in new ways. Your identity can shape how you experience a new culture, how others perceive you, and how you connect with people in your host country. This session creates an open, welcoming space for students to reflect on those possibilities, whether you’ve thought deeply about identity before or are simply curious about what to expect. You’ll hear stories and practical insights from past study abroad participants, explore how identities take on different significance across cultures, and leave with tools to feel more confident and prepared for your time abroad.

Light apps and beverages will be provided!
RSVP by filling out this Navigating Your Identity Abroad RSVP form by Monday, November 10th
