About the Celebration

Commerce, Connections, Community

Since our first graduating class of 14 students in 1920, what has made the University of Minnesota's Carlson School of Management truly special is its community.

That first class of 14 has grown to 4,500+ students currently enrolled and more than 55,000 graduates worldwide, united with our supporters and faculty around our mission of building a brighter future.

We've come a long way, and we have an even brighter tomorrow ahead. Our 100th anniversary is an opportunity to reflect on where we've been and celebrate everyone who has contributed to where Carlson School is now. That means you.

The Four Pillars of Our Centennial

These four pillars are the foundation of our celebration. Everything we do in 2019, whether we're hosting a gala or releasing a podcast, will tie back to these pillars:

Connected to Tomorrow

Just as we're looking backward, we're also looking forward. This anniversary makes our imaginations go wild wondering what the next 100 years of Carlson School will bring.

Connected to Innovation

We're never content with what’s always worked. We're always interested in what's new and what's next. In 2019, we will find innovative ways to tell our story and bring our community together.

Connected to the World

We're Minnesota’s premier business school. But we are also top-ranked nationally, our graduates make change worldwide, and we partner with organizations everywhere. That's why our centennial is a global celebration. We will reach you where you are.

Connected to One Another:

From life-long relationships to productive business partnerships, the bonds formed at Carlson School are unique. This year, we'll honor our connections.

Without our tight-knit network of industrious professionals, after all, the Carlson School just wouldn’t be the Carlson School.
