Jacquie Berglund, Founder and CEO of Finnegan's Inc.
Most people who have a passion for beer, have a passion for drinking it. Jacquie Berglund has a passion for brewing it, selling it, and giving away the profits, every bit. Growing up in Minnesota, Jacquie dreamed of starting her own business. Years after graduating from Augsburg College, Jacquie has seen this dream come to a reality as the founder and CEO of Finnegan's Beer. Since September 2000, Finnegan's Inc. has given away nearly $300,000 to poverty programs across the state of Minnesota.
Berglund's innovative approach to social enterprise has earned her multiple accolades over the years including Minnesota Jaycee top honor of Ten Young Outstanding Minnesotans, CNN's "Leaders with Heart" and "Small Business Success Stories," and most recently "200 Minnesotans You Should Know" by Twin Cities Business magazine. As a business woman with a strong passion, Berglund never passes on an opportunity to advise aspiring do-gooders on how to become social entrepreneurs themselves. She attributes her success to a sound business plan, a lot of hard work, and a little Irish luck.
