Sherman L. Black,Seagate Technology

 

Sherman Black SC 100x151Sherman Black was named Senior Vice President and General Manager of Seagate Technology’s Enterprise Compute business unit in 2005.  He is responsible for shaping the strategy, product offerings, research and development investments, product marketing, and profit/loss management of the Enterprise Compute business.  He joined Seagate in 1988, and his 20 years of experience in the data storage industry spans engineering, marketing, product line management, and sales.  This experience also includes an international assignment based in Singapore.  Prior to his current position, Sherman was the Vice President of Global OEM Sales, leading the sales teams covering Seagate’s largest customers. 

 

A 1987 graduate of the University of Arkansas with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Black also earned his master’s degree in business administration from the University of Oklahoma in 1991.  He is a 2007 inductee into the University of ArkansasAcademy of Electrical Engineering. 

 

Black serves on the board of directors for the Minnesota High Tech Association.
