Secretary of State and State Economist Headline Next 1st Tuesday Speaker Series
Mark Ritchie and Tom Stinson to lead panel discussion on Minnesota's financial outlook on March 6.
Secretary of State Mark Ritchie and University of Minnesota Professor and State Economist Tom Stinson will lead a panel discussion on the financial outlook for the state of Minnesota at the next "1st Tuesday Speaker Series" on March 6 at 11:30 a.m. in the University of Minnesota's McNamara Alumni Center.
Secretary of State Ritchie oversees a wide range of services for Minnesota businesses provided by the Office of Secretary of State, including the archiving of official documents. He is also responsible for administering Safe at Home, Minnesota's address confidentiality program, as well as partnering with township, city, and county officials to organize elections on behalf of Minnesota's 3.7 million eligible voters.
Professor Tom Stinson, state economist, is responsible for preparing revenue forecasts for the Governor and Legislature. He has held this role since 1987. In his professorial role, Stinson is a faculty member in the Department of Applied Economics at the University of Minnesota. He received his PhD in economics from the University.
