VP of human resources for Medtronic Greater China Sherry Zhang will be the featured guest at the upcoming 1st Tuesday speaker series on October 7, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. at McNamara Alumni Center. Zhang will share insights about the opportunities and challenges that both Chinese and U.S. multinational companies face, and how organizations throughout the world can learn and work with one other.

Zhang has served as VP of human resources at Medtronic Greater China since 2006, where she has developed and implemented HR strategies to support business growth. Within the past eight years, the organization has experienced revenue growth exceeding 400 percent, and has tripled its employee base. In 2013, Medtronic was listed among the "Best Companies to Work For in Greater China" by the Great Place to Work Institute.

Prior to joining Medtronic, Zhang worked for Dell Computer China in HR and business ethics, where she traveled throughout China to perform an array of duties. Throughout her more than 20 years’ experience, she has witnessed tremendous economic growth and talent dynamics in China. 

Zhang received her bachelor’s degree in business administration from the Zhongshan (Sun Yat-Sen) University and her executive master's of business administration from the National University of Singapore.
