Hong Kong Commissioner Visits Carlson School

Commissioner for Economic and Trade Affairs shares what makes Hong Kong tick with students and faculty.

Donald Tong Chi‐keung, Hong Kong Commissioner for Economic and Trade Affairs, USA provided an overview of the Hong Kong economy, identified areas for new development, and shared opportunities for working and conducting business in the thriving financial, trading, and logistics hub during an event at the Carlson School on May 11.

In his presentation to students and faculty titled, "Hong Kong: Trusted Business Partner and Gateway to China," the commissioner shared examples of how firms have used Hong Kong as a springboard to the mainland, the third largest market for U.S. products, and raised capital for the expansion of operations in China.

The visit was sponsored by the University's Center for International Business Education and Research and included a reception following the commissioner's remarks.
