Narayana Kocherlakota to share thoughts on "Past, Current, and Future Monetary Policy"

Narayana Kocherlakota, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, will discuss "Communication, Credibility, and Implementation: Some Thoughts on Past, Current, and Future Monetary Policy" at the next "1st Tuesday Speaker Series" on September 6 at 11:30 a.m. in the University of Minnesota's McNamara Alumni Center.

Kocherlakota became president and chief executive officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis in October 2009. He has served as a professor of economics at the University of Minnesota since 2005, where he chaired the department from 2006-2008. Since 1999, he has served as a consultant to the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis. He is also a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research.

Kocherlakota earned a PhD in economics from the University of Chicago and an AB in mathematics from Princeton.
